A progressive, integrated, manufacturer and supplier of Ready Mix concrete, is seeking a “B” Level Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a position at our Gibraltar Rock Quarry in Belle Mead, New Jersey.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of tools, equipment and the techniques used to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel trucks and heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, man-lifts, bulldozers and other mining related trucks and equipment. The nature of the work will require that the candidate demonstrate initiative, responsibility and adaptability in fast-paced and fluid business environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance on heavy duty diesel vehicles
- Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
- Remove and replace assemblies (transmissions, axles) sub-assemblies (cylinder heads, oil pumps, water pumps, fan belts, generators, starters, gauges) and other parts (tie rods, drag links, ball joints, brake linings, bearings, air compressor, air lines) on trucks and equipment.
- Changes tires.
- Inspect and determine the nature of mechanical problems and take necessary action to restore equipment to good operating order
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
