Our client, a nationwide distributor of fine foods, has an immediate need for an experienced Warehouse Manager, to join their growing team in in the Lake Wales metro area.

The Warehouse Manager will focus on warehouse related budgets, labor planning, staffing levels, asset allocations and daily work schedules.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Serve as the leader for all consumer goods warehouse operations across the facility including raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Identify training needs and establish development paths for hourly team members
  • Participate in the development of short term and five-year capital expenditure plans
  • Serve as a business unit contact for the development of capital improvement projects
  • Jointly establish and manage warehousing budgets with the operating Unit Managers
  • Demonstrate ability to consistently deliver products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Consistently search for methods to develop an agile and committed department workforce.
  • Submit weekly reports on results to the Senior Leadership Team and the affected Units.
  • Review operating results to assure conformance with quality, safety and cost expectations
  • Develop training program for lift-drivers, and approve all forklift repairs for the plant.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; especially if in warehouse management or supply chain management.
  • Thorough understanding of Warehousing operations is required with a minimum of three years of experience in warehouse management.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and customer service performance metrics are required.
  • Thorough knowledge of warehousing, receiving, shipping and related HACCP requirements are required.
  • Knowledge of import/export, DOT and Marine Safety requirements is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing training along with Total Predictable Maintenance is preferred. Experience working in a larger facility with a large number of employees is preferred.
  • Experience in cross functional management team or matrix environment is preferred.
  • Experience in freight and truck scheduling, traffic lanes, and load planning and management is preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Must be willing and capable of developing, training and mentoring people on a continuous basis.
  • Previous work experience in production operations supervision is preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team oriented and enthusiastically supportive of the Company’s goals, policies and values.
  • Must have demonstrated and documented results in cost management and process improvement.
  • Must have command of Microsoft Office Suite applications including WORD and EXCEL.
  • Must be able to monitor finished goods approaching shipment cutoff time fence to assure no products go beyond ship cutoff, manage the rework team to assure that all product going beyond ship cutoff is reclaimed effectively.
  • Must be willing and able to participate on the Plant Emergency Response Team or the Plant Medical Response Team.
  • Must be an active member of the Business Unit Manager Team.
  • Active participation and support of the plant safety program is required.
