Our client, a growing, experienced law firm, has an immediate need for an experienced Litigation Attorney, to join their winning team in Charlotte.
Our candidate of choice has spent the past several years actively litigating cases, rather than working exclusively in a pre-litigation capacity. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for litigation matters, communicating with clients, preparing legal documents, conducting discovery, and appearing in litigation-related proceedings. You will bring 3–5 years of hands-on litigation experience and a strong understanding of the litigation process from case inception through resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and handle an active caseload of litigation matters.
- Develop case strategy and work matters through the litigation process.
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, conferences, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
- Review and analyze discovery and other case-related documentation.
- Work closely with colleagues, opposing counsel, clients, and other parties involved in litigation.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and meet all applicable deadlines.
- Represent clients professionally and effectively throughout the litigation process.
- Evaluate legal issues and provide well-reasoned recommendations regarding case strategy and resolution.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Passed the bar examination on the first attempt.
- 3–5 years of litigation experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling litigation matters and participating in the litigation process.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a legal team.
- Professional judgment and strong client-service skills.
