Machine Operator – Slitter

Our client, a global leader in packaged good solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Slitter Machine Operator, to join our winning team in Bristol.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating machinery
- Mechanical ability to run processes
- Make necessary/needed adjustments to equipment
- Tearing down and setting up jobs
- Perform quality checks and ensure correct specifications
- Loading and unloading of product using hoist
- Perform some part replacements on dies and extruders
- Interpret and understand written information (work orders, SOP, tickets, etc.)
- Keeping work and surrounding areas clean and safe
- Completion of necessary paperwork and checklists
- Work in a team environment
- Forklift experience a plus but not required, candidate must have the ability to operate forklift after certification
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Problem solving

- Ability to use a computer (basic computer skills, data entry)
- Basic math skills
- Good organizational skills
- Communicating in a clear manner
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
- Moving/Carrying ability, 50 lbs repetitively/frequently; 70 lbs intermittently for up to 5 ft.
- Lifting ability; up to 50 lbs intermittently
- Standing for extended periods. (consistently – 70-80%)
- Bending, twisting and reaching (intermittently -60-70%)
- Push/pull of up to 100 lbs. (occasionally – 20-30%)
- Extensive use of hands and fingers
- Extensive time on feet, walking/ standing
- Use of step ladders, (if needed)
