Our client, a nationwide provider of commercial plastic and polymers, has an immediate need for an experienced R & D Technician, to join their winning team in Evansville.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for day to day activities associated with research and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow corporate safety and environmental policies.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist production in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams, and by conducting laboratory and plant safety audits.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to production.
  • Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials and finished products.
  • Make formulation adjustments to correct out-of-spec results including color.
  • Process audits, checking production equipment for quality.
  • If necessary, may perform duties not directly related to your position and assist fellow workers.
  • Operate fork truck.
  • Weigh raw materials and additives.
  • Run twin and single screw extruder.
  • Accurately document and store processing parameters.
  • Match/adjust color to standard/stated requirements.
  • Operate injection molding machines.
  • Complete job/task associated reports (production lot paperwork. Etc.)
  • Help troubleshoot problems.
  • General housekeeping and associated maintenance activities.
  • Perform Lab Technician responsibilities on an “as needed” basis.
  • Utilize IQMS
