Our client, a nationwide leader in custom rubber manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced Process Engineer, to join their winning team in Wantage.

 

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for the development and implementation of engineered processes to support the manufacture of products for clients. This includes support of the day-to-day production activities and the continuous improvement of the products and services provided, as well as the development of new or improved products and processes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design tooling, fixtures, gauges, templates and jigs to aid in the manufacture of critical aerospace components.
  • Work, hands on, with new tooling and techniques in order to refine them to the highest level of efficacy possible.
  • Understands all procedures and paperwork required to comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with the production managers to identify and prevent defects which may lead to decreased yield, throughput, quality, and disruptions to delivery deadlines.
  • Starts-up and trouble-shoots all production machines, secondary, and auxiliary equipment in any given area of production, as necessary.
  • Programs new job set-ups for processes and auxiliary equipment, as necessary.
  • Submits first article products for quality approval along with all necessary paperwork.
  • Documents and revises all set-up process sheets after every new job is started, logging any changes as they are made.
  • Acts as a technical point of contact between our company and its’ various customers for ongoing production and development efforts.
  • Ensures that the housekeeping and cleanliness of the production department as established by management is maintained.
  • Follows all safety rules and wears all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Reports all unsafe conditions to a Supervisor.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent) from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Must be a US citizen, or have the ability to obtain a legal US citizenship status.
  • Possesses a current, or have the ability to obtain a government secret clearance.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional work experience in a related area with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of elastomeric materials and an understanding of how their physical properties relate to manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Experience with 3-D CAD program, preferably Solidworks.
  • Experience with machining and fabrication is a plus.
  • Experience with Design and Product/Process Failure Mode Effect Analyses, DFMEA and PFMEA respectively, is a plus.
