Our client, a global leader in manufactured shipping solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Finishing Gluing Operator to join our growing team in Staunton.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for supporting our Finishing Department. This position is responsible for set up and maintaining folder/gluer equipment and processes to produce folding cartons.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and maintain the folder/gluer to produce folding cartons
- Locate and load proper stock in preparation for operation
- Prepares make-ready feeder, prefold, glue system, final fold, delivery, pack station and inspection system
- Operates folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures
- Ensures total quality of the job while in operation
- Maintains the machine and area in accordance with the standard operation procedures
- Demonstrates competency in all basic folds: straight-line, lock-bottom, inner partition, etc.
- Complete all job logs as required
- Performs other job duties as assigned
- Follow all company safety requirements
- Comply with all company rules and regulations
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must have at least three years of professional working experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- At least five years of manufacturing environment, preferred folding carton manufacturing experience and in a position as a gluer (finishing) operator
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve gluer problems
- Mechanical aptitude
