Our client, a global manufacturer of electrical components, is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Operator to join our growing team in Huntingdon Valley.
Our candidate of choice will Write CMM programs using PCDMIS software and prove them out on Hexagon 5 Axis CMM machines and perform first piece, in-process and final inspections using PCDMIS based Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write CMM programs in PCDMIS conforming to formal and informal company standards
- Review customer drawings and cad models including embedded PMI data
- Collaborate with Process Engineers to establish inspection strategies and required inspection criteria
- Participate in process reviews, pFMEA exercises and other process improvement activities when required
- Perform inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines using new and pre-written programs
- Develop Set-up instructions
- Qualify CMM probes using established calibration routines
- Evaluate inspection results to determine conformance to requirements
- Utilize various manual measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators and other hand held measuring devices
- Utilize other vision based equipment such as Optical Comparators, Microscopes or 2D profilers for measurement of parts or part characteristics
- Understand and perform to all current quality standards
- Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required
- Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors
- Understand GD&D concepts including Maximum Material Condition, True Position and Profile of Surface tolerances
- Have an understanding of basic statistical techniques sufficient for evaluation of measurement data trends
- Have a basic understanding of machining processes sufficient to support communication of findings to the production floor
- Train others on inspection techniques and tools when required
- Perform safe operation of CMM machines
- Accurately complete all required paperwork
- Ensure the proper filing of inspection results on the company server
- Keep machines and work area clean and organized at all times
- Perform basic weekly and daily maintenance of CMM machines
- Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements
- Provide good feedback and promote good communication with other inspectors from multiple shifts, Quality Engineers, Process Engineers and Machinists

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience programming and operating PCDMIS driven CMMs
- SPC and Datapage+ experience a plus
- Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time

- Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality
- Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
- Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read mechanical drawings and view CAD models and specifications
- Competent in the use of desk top PCs and software including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Training will be required on company computer systems and the PCDMIS CMM and CMM Manager software as required
