Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of precision metal parts, has an immediate need for an experienced Systems Administrator, to join their winning team in Sarasota.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems and looking to continuously improve the IT server infrastructure. You will be independently driven to take initiative and own tasks of responsibility while also collaborating with multiple departments and leadership to achieve positive outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems
- Introducing and integrating new technologies into the existing environment
- Performing routine audits of systems and software
- Performing backups and testing recovery
- Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes to servers.
- Installing and configuring new server hardware and software
- Administration and routine maintenance for critical core services such as MS SQL server, Exchange, Domain Servers
- Adding, removing, or updating user account information and group memberships, resetting passwords, etc.
- Answering technical queries by users
- Responsibility for security of network and server systems
- Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the network systems and servers
- Perform maintenance and updates to VMWare server infrastructure
- Troubleshooting any reported problems with servers/network
- System performance tuning
- Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running
- Administration of email servers – adding/removing mailboxes and mailbox management
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in CS, EE, CIS, MIS or Mathematics from a 4-year university or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of Windows system administration supporting a production environment
- Well-developed and demonstrable understanding of Computer Science principles, basic networking concepts; OSI network layers, TCP/IP, routers, switches, systems, and servers such as DHCP, DNS and understanding of system and network security
- Experience with Active Directory (Domain trust, site and services, group policy), IIS, SQL Clustering, PowerShell, System Center Configuration Manager, and Intune
- Knowledge and experience with traditional and hyperconverged infrastructure, RAID, NTFS and Share Permissions
- 6+ years of virtualization experience – VMWare preferred (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, Log Insight, vROPs)
- Familiar with Nessus, Carbon Black, Thycotic and security concepts such as OWASP and Mitre ATT&CK
- SharePoint setup and configuration experience 3+ years
- Experience with Azure (M365, Azure AD, SAML, SSO, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI) and AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, Security Groups, IAM) cloud services
