Our client, a leading litigation law firm with offices throughout the Northeast, has an immediate need for an Associate Attorney with Transportation experience, to join our winning team in New York.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for managing your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, all while keeping a keen eye on details and deadlines. This is a hybrid role!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- New York State Bar required.
- Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
- At least 3-5 years of experience handling the defense of Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability.
- Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions, perform legal research and respond to discovery requests.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with valuable courtroom experience.
- Conduct thorough legal research, preparing memoranda to support case strategy, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong academic record.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
- You will assist in trials and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills.
- Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions making attention to detail and effective communication key attributes for success in this position.
- Areas of focus will include Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability.
