Our client, a prestigious, nationwide, law firm dedicated to providing legal services to financial institutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney, to join their winning team in Texas.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for providing excellent representation for clients in bankruptcy matters, including both lender/creditor and borrower perspectives, with a focus on Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 cases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact professionally and diligently with clients and staff.
- Prepare motions, objections, claims, and orders for bankruptcy cases.
- Attend and represent clients in court hearings.
- Handle mortgage mediation matters related to bankruptcy cases.
- Manage assigned case load to meet goals and client expectations.
- Address escalated and time-sensitive matters.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients to ensure smooth workflow and quality control.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active law license in the jurisdiction of practice.
- 1–10 years of bankruptcy experience, preferably in Chapter 7 and 13 cases representing lenders/creditors, with attendance at court hearings.
- Chapter 11 and adversary proceedings experience is a plus.
- Multiple jurisdiction admission is preferred.
- Must be admitted to the Texas Bar (or relevant state bar) and in good standing.
- Must be admitted to practice in Federal District Courts in Tennessee (or relevant jurisdiction).
- Must reside in Tennessee (or relevant jurisdiction).
- Strong understanding of Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy procedures and laws.
- Familiarity with court procedures and practice.
- Proficiency in numbers and basic accounting.
- Knowledge of bankruptcy law proceedings
