Our client, a global leader in metals manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced CNC Machinist, to join their winning team in Rockaway.
Our candidate of choice will be familiar with turning machines. You will set-up and operate a variety of machines in machine shop, including but not limited to; milling, turning, drilling, grinding etc. You will work to able to work close to tolerances working from drawings with little or no guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines)
- Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and supervisors to improve processes
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous manufacturing experience (3+ years)
- Willingness to learn
- CNC programming experience (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
- Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
