Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of precision manufacturing chemicals, has an immediate need for an experienced Hazardous Material Handler, to join their winning team in Pittsburgh.
Our candidate of choice will move, manage and distribute materials, products, and/or waste within our facility while adhering to all regulatory requirements and company policies, procedures and practices. You will ensure that accurate material, product and waste information is collected, documented and recorded into inventory databases in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload shipments in/out of trucks
- Manage materials within our facility
- Organize shipping activity for chemicals
- Manage the maintenance of waste records
- Manage the outbound waste shipments
- Perform cycle counting activities
- Participate in maintaining the security of the facility by keeping gates and doors closed and locked when not in use
- Promote and support the company’s safety, security and quality initiatives
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. DOT Hazmat Employee
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role
- Must obtain and maintain PCC training requirements
- Understand and follow PCCMS Quality procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to job and material management directives
- Able to accurately document inventory of materials, products and wastes in the databases used.
- Ability to operate equipment used to move materials – forklifts, pallet jacks, drum carts, dollies, etc
- Stage raw materials in a timeline manner as directed
- Inspect and maintain all storage areas in a neat, orderly and compliant manner. Document inspections as required.
- Able to learn and used computer based programs.
