Our client, a nationwide sheet metal manufacturer and distributor, has an immediate need for an experienced Industrial PLC Electrician, to join our winning team in Closter.
Our candidate of choice will bring expertise in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) troubleshooting and programming. As a PLC and HMI Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of electrical systems, particularly those controlled by PLCs and HMIs, in industrial or manufacturing environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, with a focus on PLC and HMI components.
- Troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems to identify and resolve issues related to wiring, programming, and communication protocols.
- Program and configure PLCs and HMIs to meet specific operational requirements, including logic programming, data acquisition, and user interface design.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to implement system upgrades, modifications, and improvements.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on PLC and HMI systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with electrical equipment and hazardous materials.
- Document work activities, including repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks, accurately and comprehensively.
- Stay updated on advancements in PLC and HMI technology through training, certifications, and continuing education.
- Provide training and support to other team members on PLC and HMI operation, troubleshooting, and programming.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Electrician certification or equivalent vocational training in electrical systems.
- Proven experience working as an electrician in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Expertise in troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems, including knowledge of various brands and software platforms.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and HMI development tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Certifications in PLC and HMI technologies (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) are a plus.
