Our client, a law firm with offices throughout the world, has an immediate need for an experienced Insurance Litigation Attorney, to join our growing team in Garden City.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience with first and third party coverage evaluations and litigations primarily in the context of commercial lines policies (general liability, business owners type policies).
- The candidate must have at least 3 years insurance coverage experience and have strong research and writing skills.
- Some litigation experience (discovery, depositions, motion practice) is preferred as well as the position will involve both the evaluation of insurance coverage issues and the litigation of insurance coverage disputes.
- Trial experience not required but always valued. New York admission a must, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania admission a plus
KEY QUALIFCATIONS:
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills
- Dedicated and goal-oriented, with a strong work ethic
- Superior organizational and time-management skills
- An ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, as well as adversaries and courts
- Excellent interpersonal, networking and business development skills
- 1-4 years of litigation experience; some experience with insurance litigation is a plus but not required
- Strong writing and case management skills, direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills
