Our client, a prominent, multidisciplined law firm, has an immediate need for an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney, to join their winning team in White Plains.
Our candidate of choice will be an experienced litigation associate with a keen interest in/or working knowledge of firearms and ammunition to join its expanding defense practice. You will have an opportunity to litigate a variety of matters involving the firearm industry, including product liability, commercial business disputes, general liability, and/or other interesting litigation matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- Admission to practice law in the State of New York. Secondary admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey is a plus.
- A minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience.
- Previous experience preparing and responding to (1) initial pleadings, (2) motions to dismiss, (3) written fact discovery demands, including requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admission, (4) written expert discovery demands, including requests for production, interrogatories, and expert witness disclosures, and (5) discovery-related motions and meet-and-confer correspondence.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience with preparing and responding to Daubert and/or Frye motions, and motions for summary judgment.
- Experience with trial-related court filings (i.e., motions in limine, requests to charge, verdict sheets, etc.) is a plus.
- Deposition experience is preferred with the ideal candidate having independently taken and defended some depositions.
- Courtroom experience is preferred with the ideal candidate having independently presented oral argument in motion practice.
- Stellar written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a robust caseload.
- Courtroom and deposition experience as well as a working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure are necessary. Excellent research, investigation, and writing skills are required.
