Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of precision metal parts, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join our growing team based in Ogdensburg.

 

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for maintenance of plant equipment and property as directed by the Maintenance Manager to assure the plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform assigned functions as related to preventative maintenance program.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning or inoperative equipment to determine root cause of problems.
  • Make repairs to any plant equipment or structure as required.
  • Layout and fabricate projects of steel as directed.
  • Install new equipment or systems as directed.
  • Perform all projects in a workmanlike manner, leaving the area clean and orderly upon completion.
  • Observe all safety procedures including lockout/Tagout and confined space entry, maintain and use appropriate safety equipment as required.
  • Work cooperatively within the team structure of the Maintenance Department.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Minimum of high school diploma. Preference given to persons with verifiable Trade School or Technical School training.
  • Experience installing/maintaining material handling equipment including bucket elevators, screw conveyors, pumps, fans and pneumatic conveying systems
  • Experience installing/maintaining process equipment including mixers, batching tanks, kilns/calciners, grinding equipment, classifying or separating equipment, packaging equipment, material storage structures, dust and/or fume handling devices, electrical power and protective interlocking.
  • Skill areas should include read and understand mechanical concepts, general layouts and detail drawings sufficiently to fabricate and/or install new projects or repair/revise existing equipment, gear drives, power transmission components, shafts and bearings, precision measurements and alignment/adjustment, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air, plumbing, steel layout and fabrication methods, equipment moving and installation techniques, repair of mobile equipment, proper lubrication techniques, and a general familiarity with plant electrical systems.
