Our client, a nationwide provider of commercial plastic and polymers, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join their winning team in Welcome.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and in servicing material handling equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, welding, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Start each shift by performing a walk-through of the entire plant to check on equipment and check in with operators regarding any problems they might have
- Communicate parts inventory to manager as it is depleted
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
- Perform a variety of plumbing and carpentry functions
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements at all times and notify management of violations of these policies
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- At least three years’ experience in manufacturing with the ability to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment.
- You must be experienced and skilled at mechanical, basic electrical (low voltage to 480 VAC, single and 3 phase), welding, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, carpentry and machining of parts.
- You must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently.
