Our client, a nationwide food manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join their winning team in Secaucus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.
- The candidate will possess technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to determine the root cause of problems then diagnose the malfunction to assure that the problem is properly resolved. Experience working on Vertical and Horizontal form/fill/seal machines, as well as high speed packaging equipment. Also, the candidate should have an understanding and ability to troubleshoot PLC SLC 500, Control/compact Logix 5000 and read electrical and mechanical blueprints.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no direct supervision and must complete all work in a timely manner and must follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Candidate must be able to utilize the four main principles of troubleshooting i.e., Investigating, Evaluating, Repair and Prevention and have excellent cognitive skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Candidate must also have the ability to use all shop equipment i.e., Lathe, milling machine, welding equipment and cutting tools.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs with work orders and inspection routines and experience requesting parts
- One to two year certificate from college or technical school, 5 to 7 plus years of related packaging experience and/or training in the food industry.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
