Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of precision plastics, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join their winning team in Piscataway.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all phases of installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Repair, adjust, and install electrical equipment including but not limited to programmable controllers and recorders, transmitters and transducers, motor control centers, power lift trucks, building lighting, heating, AC and ventilation equipment, electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit, and switches.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex problems visually inspects diagnoses and observes electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Installs wire systems and rigid conduit.
  • Changes-out and repairs AC/DC electric motors and parts, relays, solenoids, and terminal strips.
  • Disassembles equipment to gain access to problems, using crane, hoists, hand tools, power tools, hammers, pry-bars, etc.; examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Uses blueprints, diagrams, repair manuals, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring instruments as required.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, and Sanitation, etc.)
  • Must become familiar with all safety and control features of equipment assigned to.
  • Work in a safe manner always wearing all required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter free workspace.
  • Assures proper machine setup for product being produced.
  • Code placement and legibility
  • Record all jobs and maintain record of jobs to do and completed.
  • Record and maintain records of job details.
  • Record and maintain records of instruments and tools.
  • Good communication skills; – Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English, and/or another language if required. Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED or 3 years working in related manufacturing areas
  • 2 years’ experience as an industrial electrician – preferred
  • 2 years of mechanical knowledge
  • 2 years of electrical experience
