Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of custom plastics, has an immediate need for an experienced Process Technician, to join their winning team in Meadville.

 

Our candidate of choice will monitor injection molding machine and equipment processes to meet customer specifications by performing the following duties.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment using tools such as hand tools, electrical testing instruments, machine controls, and gauges.
  • Adjusts machine operations and instruments to achieve Control Plan objectives, meet quality expectations, and ensure efficient start-up and shutdown.
  • Documents all process problems and corrections in the mold logbook.
  • Cooperates with Setup personnel, Operators, Quality, and Supervisors to ensure quality production parts.
  • Communicates with manufacturing personnel to continuously improve processing methods.
  • Attaches moving parts and sub-assemblies (e.g., valves, gauges, portable equipment, conveyors) to injection molding machines.
  • Operates equipment safely and observes 5S (workplace organization method).
  • Performs basic design work for injection molding tooling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to three years of college or university education in the plastics engineering field.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
