Our client, a nationwide provider of commercial and residential building products based in New England, has an immediate need for an experienced Process Technician, to join their winning team in Dartmouth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by driving execution on Kaizen Events and project action items
  • Fabrication and machine shop experience
    • Will produce jigs, tables, guards, etc. for the production line
    • Start to finish: design, measure, cut, weld, assemble, and install
    • Experience with multiple materials: metal and wood especially
  • Partner with engineering on process improvement events
    • Analyze process through time studies, waste walks, and voice of customer
    • Participate in event planning
    • Lead continuous improvement events and projects
  • Work closely with maintenance to accomplish goals and troubleshoot processes/equipment
    • Root cause analysis on safety, quality, and production problems
    • Able to diagnose and repair common machine issues
  • Able to support equipment moves
    • Assist in process re-layouts and all associated aspects of process relocation and start up
    • Running air and power lines
  • Support plant personnel
    • Writing standard work for production and maintenance tasks after improvements
    • Training employees on changes after an event
    • Foster continuous improvement mindset amongst production teams
    • Work alongside safety team to address and resolve JHAs and safety observations
    • Conflict resolution mind set and skills

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Kaizen/Lean 6 Sigma a plus
  • Occasionally able to work 2nd shift or weekends to support equipment moves, installations, Kaizen events, or troubleshoot issues
  • Work schedule and/or hours will follow the production needs
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Communication skills
    • Able to present project findings to a group
    • Proficient to track, analyze and extract data in excel form
    • Able to use a computer for email, Word, PowerPoint, etc
