Our client, a nationwide chemical manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Project Engineer, to join their winning team in Old Bridge.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of the chemical plant, including troubleshooting, process control and process improvement. You will create and maintain a stable, and reliable manufacturing process. You will also be involved in the design of the next phase of the plant, utilizing knowledge gained from the pilot plant to recommending appropriate unit operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Builds and maintains the knowledge needed to be a resident expert on equipment and manufacturing of our chemical products.
- Reviews, updates and manages SOP’s to ensure that work is done safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with and seeks input from operators and staff to develop SOP’s.
- Coordinates with the HSE Manager on HAZOP reviews and other PSM needed to ensure the safety and health of employees.
- Participates in incident reviews, root cause, analyses and corrective actions.
- Recommends improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production and cost goals.
- Creates PFD’s and P&ID’s.
- Interacts with R&D team to identify development activities necessary to improve manufacturing processes.
- Supports design activities with business cases including analysis.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 – 6 years of experience
- Must be a mechanical engineer based on the role’s expectations and day to day responsibilities.
- Must be well versed in Auto CAD
