Our client, a global manufacturer of precision-engineered components is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician, to join their winning team in Mansfield. This is a first shift role.

Our candidate of choice will bring prior refrigeration experience in a manufacturing environment working on capital equipment and will be responsible for assembly, charge, perform tests, diagnose, trouble shoot and repair a wide variety of capital equipment (single stage, cascade, multiple stage), utilizing blueprints, schematics, piping diagrams, technical manuals and other specifications.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble and mount electrical wiring circuits, controls and recording devices. Attaches thermocouples to various points of refrigeration system and test-operates system to evaluate functioning and cooling capacity of system.
  • Tests lines, components and connections for leaks with leak detector which indicates presence of refrigerant. Removes air and moisture from system and charges system with specified amount of refrigerant. Tests, diagnose and repair defective refrigeration system at all levels of assembly. Records pressure and temperature readings from gauges during test run.
  • Examines product for defects
  • Will observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, hazard-free condition, reporting all defective equipment or hazardous conditions.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to use a variety of test equipment, calibration equipment and hand tools such as: digital multimeters, AC clamp meters, capacitance meter, digital storage oscilloscopes, flowmeters, function generator, power supplies, digital thermometers.
  • Use of personal computer to perform automated testing of equipment, soldering iron, hand crimp tools.
  • Proficient in the use of schematics, blueprints and piping diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Technical education in Refrigeration Trade School preferred.
  • Must possess 608 certification in refrigeration recovery.
