Our client, a nationwide leader in packaging solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager, to join their winning team.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for managing capital equipment projects across the North America service center network to include design, site acceptance testing and equipment supplier management. You will partner with the service center operations team to ensure timely project execution, identify operational improvement opportunities, and execute an aggressive automation roadmap plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of $25M annual capex budget
  • Execution of all service center capital projects across North America to deliver headcount reduction and other cost efficiencies.
  • Partner with service center operations to establish optimal design standards for production equipment.
  • Partner with equipment suppliers to ensure proper testing, validation, training, and hand off to service center operations.
  • Partner with Quality to identify equipment enhancements that improve label compliance and reduce customer complaints.
  • Coach and development direct and indirect reports to build bench strength and support employee growth measures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year mechanical engineering degree or equivalent required
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans with budget for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in sourcing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high volume operational requirements.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Computer literacy required, including proficiency in standard business applications included in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent on time decision making skills 10-15 years’ experience managing capital projects in production facilities.
  • Experience in working in a matrixed organization.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules/hours and engage in domestic travel (75%).
